David and I have been together for many years. I want to share our story with you because it's definitely a good example of how God directs you to where you're supposed to be. My husband is a very very patient man. It all started a long time ago. I went to the Pentecostal Church and I was organizing a youth rally which was funny because at that point the only youth in the church were myself and my siblings. I'm the oldest of four. I had it all planned out and I was inviting local churches to join me and my youth group. Well I tried to call all this Baptist Church and the Reverend told me that I needed to speak to David that he managed the young people's group so I called him. I called another day, no answer. I kept calling and eventually spoke to his dad. His dad told me to call in the evening as David usually works until 6:00 p.m. The next time I called I talked to David and I told him about the rally and the speaker and the music that took about 15 minutes. Then for the next couple hours we talked about everything else. We talked about our goals in life, our relationship with God, where we were being led. We talked about everything and needless to say I was head over heels. So after talking everyday for a while, maybe a week or so. David invited me and my youth group to join his group and go bowling. Here's the two problems. This sounded kind of like a date and I really didn't want to bring my youth group on my date considering my youth group was my siblings and the second problem was I am really bad at bowling. David said he wasn't very good at bowling either and that we were just doing it for fun. So I went without my siblings and met David and it was a great evening. Our first official date was my best friends sister's funeral. Any man who is willing to go to a funeral with you is a man you should hang on to. We didn't know how many funerals we would attend in our lives. Quite a few but that's another story. So we started dating on June 15th, 2008. On Christmas Eve that same year David proposed in front of my family and his. He knew that family was important to me and that for an important moment like that I would want them around. The funny thing is when he proposed, he was very old fashioned and asked my dad for my hand in marriage. Everything that mattered to me. When he proposed I was in such a state of shock that I actually ran to his room. Got my phone and called my best friend and said guess what David proposed and her reply was and what did you say and then I realized I had said nothing so I went back out and said yes of course. On October 3rd, 2009 David and I got married. It was beautiful wedding. Beautiful dinner. Just a beautiful day all around. We had pictures done in the park. We found it later that all around our small hometown. It was raining but in that Park there was not a drop until we were safe and sound in the reception hall. Then it poured. This is the beginning of our story. I'm going to share more on our story in the near future. But for now I'll just leave you with the fact that we were happy newlyweds and just couldn't wait to start our family. Again. God had other plans but like I said that's another story.
